Review of Junction City, Oregon

I had a great 7 years in Junction City
Star Rating - 2/27/2017
I grew up in small town Oregon until moving to Los Angeles at age 12 in 1960. The last 7 years from 1953 to 1960 were spent living in the "suburbs" of Junction City, 2 miles out at the end of Oakley Drive. It was a great 7 years and I am happy that I was able to be a kid growing up in the country. I loved my school and my teachers and I loved playing outdoors, running through the cornfields, playing football in the cow pastures, catching polliwogs in the run off streams and making rafts to ride in the slews with the other kid in the area. It was a very innocent time, and as an innocent kid, moving to L.A. as a 12 yr. old was a culture shock. I am glad I experienced the small town life but I have never regretted leaving. If I had stayed I would never have experienced the things a place like L.A. can offer. I am almost 70 yrs old now and have had a great life. I live in Las Vegas for the last 25 years and love it here. I don't miss the rainy days in Junction, but I do still enjoy the memories of being a young boy growing up in the country. It is a part of me that will never go away.
